PF auto-transfer not started: new member ID not linked yet
Your new employer hasn't linked your new member ID to your existing UAN yet, or hasn't deposited your first PF contribution. Either way there's nothing to transfer into.

Why it's stuck
- The automatic transfer starts only after the new employer deposits your first month's PF contribution against a member ID under your existing UAN.
- If HR hasn't registered you yet, or hasn't filed the first monthly return, your new account is invisible to EPFO.
- If HR registered you without your existing UAN, a second UAN gets created. See the multiple UANs page.
Do this next
- Log in to the EPFO Member Portal → View → Service History. Check whether the new employer appears under your UAN.
- Check your new payslip for a PF deduction and confirm the month.
- Send your new HR the message below. Ask them to confirm they used your existing UAN and have filed the first monthly PF return.
- Wait one payroll cycle after HR confirms, then check the passbook for the first deposit.
- Once the deposit shows, see whether the transfer starts by itself. If it doesn't, file it yourself.

Don't
- Don't accept a new UAN if you already have one.
- Don't file a transfer into a member ID that doesn't show yet.
- Don't panic in month one. A first deposit often shows only after the first payroll cycle closes.
FAQ
When does PF auto-transfer start after joining?
After the new employer deposits your first month's contribution against a member ID under your existing UAN, with Aadhaar and KYC in order.
My new member ID isn't showing in my UAN. Why?
Usually the employer hasn't registered you yet, hasn't filed the first return, or registered you under a new UAN. Ask HR, using the message on this page.
Should I file a transfer request myself?
Once the new member ID and first deposit are visible and nothing has started on its own, yes.
Other reasons a transfer gets stuck
- Two UANs: your old PF is on a different UAN
- KYC not complete (Aadhaar, PAN or bank pending)
- Name, date of birth or gender mismatch
- Date of exit not updated for your previous job
- One employer runs its own PF trust (exempted establishment)
- Transfer pending with employer approval
- Everything looks fine, but no automatic transfer started
- Transfer claim rejected
- Claim is with EPFO (under process) or settled but not visible
- No new PF account to transfer into yet
